Nurturing Your Pet's Well-Being Through The Hoilday's

For a pet-safe and stress free holiday home, maintain your dog's regular routine as much as possible to minimize stress. Consider using calming products, like pheromone diffusers or collars, to help pets feel relaxed and with a sense of safety. Double-check that your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up-to-date. The hustle and bustle of the holidays can increase the risk of a pet getting lost. With guests coming and going, be mindful of open doors. Ensure that your pets can't escape or get into unsafe areas outside. (Great time to brush up on your Threshold Manners training or Emergency Recall training!)

Designate a quiet, comfortable space where your pet can retreat if the holiday festivities become overwhelming. Provide a cozy bed, toys, and familiar items to help them feel secure. Ensure that holiday treats and foods are safe for pets. Chocolate, alcohol, and certain festive foods can be toxic to animals. Remind guests not to feed table scraps to your pets, and have pet-friendly treats readily available for them.

Bark the Halls - Tips for Pet-Safe Celebrations

Ensure that your pet is safe during the festivities by securing your Christmas tree to prevent it from toppling over if your pets decides to climb or investigate. Avoid using water additives or preservatives in the tree water, as they may contain chemicals harmful to some pets. Opt for pet-friendly decorations such as non-breakable ornaments, fabric or wooden decorations, and avoid using tinsel, as it can be harmful if ingested. Remember to secure decorations well to prevent curious pets from knocking them over or chewing on them.

Paws & Reflect - Gratitude for Pet Companionship

We joyfully announce our dog handler and canine duo's triumphant success in passing the AKC CGC Evaluation, unwrapping a season of shared accomplishments and embodying the true magic of teamwork!

Tara and Louis were in our Reactive Dog training group class and week after week this duo's special bond began to strengthen in a different way. Louis was starting to trust that that Tara was not going to let other dogs/people disturb his "bubble" space without his consent. Louis was now looking up to his handler for instruction instead of reacting to his emotions.

We couldn't be more proud of this team for their accomplishments and as we hand back the leash we are confident that this team is going to continue to make more progress. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Team Louis!

As the HOWLidays approach, let the festive spirit fill your home and the hearts of your pets. Embrace the joy, laughter, and unconditional love that our dogs bring into our lives.
